I paid twice the price...
Can't believe I didn't check Amazon's price first. I paid nearly twice this price locally to get these, and I now have 3 pairs: 1 for the bathroom, 1 for my purse (chin hair emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere) and a spare pair in case the tips get bent (Tweezerman will sharpen and straighten tips for a very small fee).Bottom line: I've used these for several years and they are the absolute best for ingrown chin hairs (menopausal women know very well what I'm talking about) and essential for splinters. And 9 bucks is a great price for something so indispensable. I plan never to be without a pair within easy reach for the rest of my days, and I really don't say that about much.

best tweezers every
i absolutely love these tweezers. they are extremely sharp which allows for precision removal of splinters and ingrown hairs. i also use it for eyebrow grooming because the fine point allows for single lash removal. (helps prevent pulling out too many at a time and creating a disaster) I have just ordered my third pair of these tweezers because I can't live without them!as stated below, the tweezers do not come with instructions. Thank goodness my education prepared me for the complicated task of using this tool... If you don't know how to use tweezers, you should probably stay away from this product. it is extremely sharp!

The tips of these things are like SHARP needles, and they are perfect for "isolating ingrown hairs" beneath the skin. Like the other reviewer, I found it difficult at times to pluck hairs using the needle-like tip of the tool.The trick is to use the flat area of the tweezer, located just "before" the tips are tapered into points; from there you can grip the hair well enough to pluck it. It's enough of a hassle that I ordered a pair of Tweezerman's slanted-cut tweezers to do the "heavy lifting" plucking, and will use these for the precision work (that is, isolating the hair or splinter or bullet fragment.)Make certain you keep the clear-plastic tube that covers the tips in the packaging. You will need something to keep from poking things as you retreive or sanitize them. As a self-proclaimed beauty product hoarder, I thought I knew everything there is to know about looking great. After reading Secret Model Beauty, I learned that sometimes less is more and being beautiful begins by feeling beautiful on the inside. The book made me realize I need to pay closer attention to what I put in my body and how vitamins truly are essential to looking and feeling healthy. The author stresses the importance of sunscreen, making helpful suggestions about checking it for effectiveness due to temperature changes which can cause it to break down. I was never made aware of this prior to reading the book. Also, I learned that I do not need some of the expensive products I have been wasting my money on to get smooth skin. The book describes how to get rid of the dry, flaky skin on my lips without running to the pharmacy or cosmetic store and provides a Honey Foot Soak recipe (which smells amazing) made with ingredients I already have around my house. It seems like every other beauty book I have read is filled with self-empowerment and no practical advice, leaving me feeling like I've wasted money on nothing. Not the case with this book! Lindsey is uplifting but also practical and realistic. Before reading this book, I had a lot of misconceptions about the ways my diet and lifestyle affect my outer beauty. Not to sound corny, but I've noticed that my skin has started to glow and my outlook has improved so much since implementing many of the tips I learned in this book. For instance, I learned that I often confuse my hunger with dehydration, so instead of drinking fluids, I used to eat to no avail.
